Dobry wieczór pani a pani!
Eine konferenzmüde Heart of Code Delegation raunt ein erschöpftes Aloha aus dem dämmrigen Danzig in den Ether. Jetzt folgen erstmal in aller Kürze die hottesten News, wie immer mit viel Liebe für euch zusammengeschustert, und dann gehts sofort weiter mit ganz viel MitMischMöglichkeiten, denn: es geht jetzt wirklich los und wir brauchen alle Hände an Deck!
So, nun Nuss: Alder, was hier wieder los war! Am Samstag gabs gleich drei parallele HOC-Veranstaltungen: Python Beginners Workshop bei WikiMedia (vielen Dank PyLadies!), die Award Ceremony vom CodeWeekAward (s.u. - vielen Dank CodeWeekAward!), und das Logan CIJ Symposium, wo u.a. Julien Assange dazu anhielt Google zu boykottieren (zu recht), und David Mizra die Alpha Version von Subgraph OS (sicheres OS - check it out!) via Battle-Rap-Release-Party veröffentlichte (ob das in Zukunft alle OS Entwickler so halten? Wünschenswert!), und Jacob Applebaum ein bisschen ausrastete. Am Sonntag gabs dann zur Entspannung nen gemütlichen HackDay im wunderschönen Soundcloud Office samt formidablem Buffet (vielen Dank Hackerinnen!), wir hätten um Haaresbreite endlich den Verein gegründet, und haben nebenbei die 500er Marke auf Twitter geknackt (da geht noch mehr, erfreut euch fortan hier unseres exklusiven Unsinns in realtime). Und jetzt:

First things first, ihr habt sicher gemerkt, dass es in letzter Zeit keine english version below Hinweise mehr gab, und folglich auch keine Unterenglischversionen was natürlich inklusionstechnisch ne Katastrophe nuklearen Ausmaßes ist. Deswegen gesucht: Wortakrobatikerinnen die (meist sehr spontan) die Nussletter ver-englischen mögen (sowie auch einmaligen Krams wie Homepage, Funding Proposals etc).
Organisatorinnen! Die Heart of Code ist eine Community in der alle mitmischen können und sollen. Organisiert HackDays, organisiert Talks, organisiert LISP-Stammtische, organisiert Quelltextlesungen, organisiert einen Easter-Egg-Hackathon!!! Wir haben jede Menge Supporter deren Räume wir nutzen können und jede Menge Mädels* mit jede Menge Böcken auf fröhliche Coding Get-Togethers. Wir teilen selbstverständlich alle Kontakte gerne, und hauen auch alles über die einschlägigen Kanäle raus.
Taskforce - Das fliegende Hacksenzimmer! Mit dem großzügigen Support des CodeWeekAwards können wir im Sommer unsere Nachwuchshäckerinnen-Initiative starten. Es geht u.a. um die Organisation von Einsteiger-Programmier-Workshops für Jugendliche und das erstellen von OER Materialien zu diesem Zwecke. Geplant sind thematisch geblockte CodingTage für Mädchen zwischen 14 und 18, in denen tighte Entwicklerinnen sich und Ihre Projekte vorstellen und dann gemeinsam gecodet wird. Denkbar wäre beispielsweise so was wie „Web - wie geht das?“ (wie funktioniert eigentlich dieses Internetz, Websites bauen), „Don’t feed the Google!“ (Tracking-Awareness-Training, gesellschaftliche Relevanz von Verschlüsselung, Crypto-Tools), „My Computer demystified - was steckt eigentlich in deinem LaoTop“ (Hardware Tag), „Algorithmen knacken - from Zero to Heroine“ oder oder oder. Super wär ne Taskforce zusammenzustellen, und sich einfach mal zum Brainstorming zusammen zu setzen und Konzepte zu erarbeiten.
Die Wonderboys von greenhost haben angeboten unseren Web- sowie Mailserver und andere Experimente gratis zu hosten, und zwar tiptop verschlüsselt auf ihrem tropischen Serverpark in Amsterdam. Sogar mit Öh-koh-strom, einfach wahnsinn! Nun Suchen wir eine nette SysAdmina die Böcke hätte den ganzen Schmuh mit uns dahin umzuziehen und aufzusetzen. Dabei soll u.a. auch die Mailingliste neu aufgesetzt werden - wir müssen dringend weg vom Postaffen, denn der wirft mit Kot. In Zukunft bekommt dann auch jede Mitmuschi ihre sicher gehostete @heartofcode.org Adresse, awwww! Vielen Dank greenhost!
Setz dir jetzt den Medienkompetenzhut auf! Oho, adrett! Wir suchen ein Fundingsternchen, die Lust hätte sich bei ein, zwei öffentlichen Stellen um Fördergelder zu bewerben und den Prozess auch zu betreuen. Erfahrung in dem Bereich von Vorteil, aber nicht unbedingt notwendig.
Die HOC-Homepage kann noch ein bisschen (mehr) Liebe vertragen. Yes, more Love! Die aktuellen Issues findet ihr hier. Am brennendsten ist gerade die Übersetzung ins Englische (sowohl technisch als auch linguistisch s.o.). Wünschenswert wär auch ne Einbindung des Twitter-Feeds OHNE tracking (dafür findet sich sicher n kleines Script irgendwo auf GitHub), und ein Spendenbutton.
Lastly, der netzpolitische Flügel der HOC sucht Contributresses für ein Projekt, dass über die Gefahr von omnipotenter Überwachung aufklären, und den Nothing-To-Hide Mythos entkräften soll. dontfeedthegoogle.org ist gesichert und soll alsbald möglich, einen Anti-Surveillance-Rundumschlag ins Internet Pusten. U.a. durch ein Blog über die goings-on bei google (Vorstellung der neuesten KI Algorithmen und was sie so können, das Reihenweise Aneignen von Roboter und Machine Learning Firmen, Schulterschlüsse mit der NSA, und all die anderen beunruhigenden Entwicklungen die derzeit bei Alphabet so abgehen), Vorstellung von Google-Alternativen und Crypto-Tools, strukturierte Argumente dazu, warum Privacy matters, Ressourcen zur weiteren Information (Buchempfehlungen, Fokus, Links zu Artikeln) etc. Die Seite lebt von eurer Beteiligung und wird umso besser, je mehr Menschen daran Mitwirken. Gebraucht werden Designer/IllustratorInnen, ResearcherInnen, Journalisten und BloggerInnen, EntwicklerInnen und PR Menschen, und natürlich viel WomanPower und gute Ideen.
Also alles wie immer: Macht mit. Macht Kuchen. Macht Code. Macht Wissen. Macht Macht!

Und hier noch n bisschen bezahlte Arbyte: Wir (Frederik und Mara) suchen eine MitgründerIn! Wir arbeiten an einer App, die dabei hilft Freundschaften zu pflegen und Kontakte auch über lange Zeit und Entfernungen aufrecht zu erhalten. Wir probieren uns zwar schon fleißig im Entwickeln (iOS), könnten aber Unterstützung von jemanden mit mehr Erfahrung gebrauchen – gerade im Backend. Wer Interesse daran hat, mehr von uns und unserer Idee zu hören, meldet sich bei maraziemann@web.de.

A conference tired Heart of Code delegation whispers a muffled Aloha from the dusky Danzig into the Ether. Up next are the hottest news as always put together with lots of love, followed by lots of contribution possibilities - we’re just getting started and need all hand son deck.
Nuts first: We’ve been busy. On saturday there were three parallel HOC-Events: Python beginners workshop at WikiMedia (thanks a bunch PyLadies!), the AwardCeremony for the CodeWeekArayd (see details below – ThanksCodeWeekAward!) and the Logan CIJ Symposium where (among otherthings) Julian Assange advised us to boycott Google (with good reason), David Mizra presented the first alpha of SubgraphOS (Secure OS – check it out!) with a Rap-Release-Party (wondering if that will become a standard for OS developers), and Jacob Applebaum loosing his temper. It was a pretty cool event. On sunday we then enjoyed a relaxing HackDay in the beautiful Soundcloud Office including a formidable buffet (thanks hackers!), we almost officially founded the organisation and broke the 500-mark on Twitter (but because we know we have room for improvement you can get an exclusive realtime feed of our nonsense here).
Allhands on deck, contribute! (Something about hats? I’m confused…)
First things first, you probably noticed that for the last couple of posts an English version was missing. And while we’ve found a willing subject to translate some of our nutletters now, we could still need more people helping out with translations (not just for nutletters but also the website, funding proposals, etc. )
Organisers! The Heart of Code is a community in which everybody should be able and willing to contribute. Organise workshops, HackDays, talks, LISP-Meetups, source-code readings – an Easter-Egg-Hackathon?! We have plenty of supporters whose facilities we can use and lots of girls* with lots of interest in coding Get-Togethers. We will obviously share all our contacts and channels with you to make the event as successful as possibly can be.
**Taskforce–
The wonder boys from greenhost offered to host our web and mail server aswell as other experiments – for free, including encrypting everything on their servers and being powered by 100% renewable energies – oh yea. We’re thus now looking for a lovely SysAdmina who’d be interested in moving all our existing stuff to the new servers and setting it up. That includes redoing our mailing list (we really want to get away from the mail chimp). In the future every member would get a securely hosted ‘@heartofcode.org’ e-mail address. Awww :) Thanks greenhost!
In addition to that we’re searching for media-competent hackers to apply to local public funding pools and oversee that whole process. Experience in that regards is an advantage but not necessary (you would probably have to speak german though).
The HOC-Website could also need some more love. Yes, MORE LOVE! You can find the current issues here. Highest up on that TODO list is the translation into English (technologically as well as linguistically). But that’s not all. A twitter-feed integration without tracking or a donation button would also be desirable, some other minor and one major issue(s). Theres a website channel in our slack if you have any questions.
Last but not least the net-political wing of the HOC is searching for contributers for a project that highlights the dangers of omnipotent and permanent surveillence and attempts to destroy the “Nothing to hide”-myth. https://dontfeedthegoogle.org is registered and should act as a platform for anti-surveillance information for everybody soon. Planned are a blog about the goings-on at Google (news about AI research and new deep learning algorithms, the acquiring of robotics and machine learning companies the world over, cooperations with the NSA and all that sort of pretty worrying stuff going on at alphabet), alternatives to google, crypto-tools, structured arguments as to why privacy matters so much, and links to other resources (such as books, blogs, links to articles, etc.) This website lives from contributions and will become better the more people join in. Thus we need: Designers/ Illustrators, Researchers, Journalists, bloggers, developers, PR-Humans (okay that’s specism. Aliens and vocal animals also welcome), and ultimately lots of woman power and good ideas!
